A Languedoc table red that earns its keep at a weeknight meal. There is enough structure here to stand up to lamb merguez or a tomato-heavy braise without fighting the food. At $24.59, it is the kind of bottle you open on a Tuesday without thinking twice.

Maison Ferrand, better known for cognac, has been blending Caribbean rums since 1999, and this one pulls from Barbados, Jamaica, and Trinidad. Each component is aged in its home country, then the whole blend finishes in ex-cognac French oak in France. The Jamaican rum brings the funk and fruit, Barbados keeps it smooth, and Trinidad adds spice. At $49, this is a serious blending exercise at an honest price.

Superflux is one of Vancouver's better breweries, and Brewchacho is them leaning into the chelada lane rather than pretending to be a straightforward lager. Salted, tart, built for heat. At $19.46 for a four-pack of tall cans it is a patio-specific purchase, but on the right day there is nothing else you would rather have cold in your hand.
